Native to Java and southeastern Australia, the Birds Nest 'Staghorn' fern has a fuzzy texture to the leaves that can get very large! The name bifurcatum means forked, referring to the leaves that split and resemble stag or elk horns. The combination of their flattened sterile fronds and gently arching, elkhorn-like fertile fronds is both dramatic and elegant - and will help to bring a tropical feel to the display. It can grow up to 31-35 in tall and wide, and care is easy as long as they're provided with low to medium light and moderate moisture like most ferns.
Shade: This is a site that gets almost no direct sunlight at all. A room with a north facing window, for example, a dark bedroom might be considered as shade. It could also be a spot away from a window.
